Plen is currently in beta, thanks for being an early adopter! What does that mean?

Plen is a desktop Gantt chart planner and time tracker. It helps you visually plan projects on a timeline and track how long tasks actually take, all from one app on your computer.

Beta means Plen isn't fully finished yet. We're still gathering feedback, smoothing out the experience, and fixing bugs as we go. In practice, that means you might run into the occasional bug while using Plen.

If you do, we'd really appreciate you letting us know on our report a bug page so we can get it sorted.

€22, one time. No subscriptions, no monthly fees, no hidden costs. You buy it once and it's yours.

Plen runs entirely on your computer, with no accounts or servers. Your licence key is verified locally on your device, which means that once a key has been issued, we have no way to take it back.

That's why we don't offer refunds, and why we made the free version. It lets you plan, organise and customise your view, enough to get a real feel for how Plen works. We recommend trying it before you buy.

Not sure if Plen is right for you? Email us at info@plen.work. We'd rather answer your questions upfront than have you buy something that doesn't fit.

No. Plen runs entirely on your computer. Your data never leaves your machine. The only time you need internet is to download Plen. After that, it works completely offline.

Windows and macOS.

Yes, Plen is safe. We're a new, independent developer, so Windows doesn't recognise us yet and shows a warning for the installer. It's the standard message Windows shows for any app from a developer it doesn't know yet, not a sign that anything is wrong with Plen.

To install: if you see a blue "Windows protected your PC" box, click More info and then Run anyway. If you see the "Open File - Security Warning" box, just click Run.

We plan to resolve this as Plen grows. If you have any questions, you're welcome to email us first at info@plen.work.

Plen runs entirely on your computer, so there's no built-in sync. It works well with cloud storage like Dropbox or OneDrive if you want your files on multiple devices.

Yes! Plen runs as a free trial with no time limit. You can plan projects, use the timer, and explore all the features. The trial is limited to 3 projects and doesn't allow saving or exporting. Enter a licence key to unlock everything.

After you purchase Plen, you'll receive an email with your licence key within a few minutes. Open Plen, paste the key into the activation bar, and you're done.

Check your spam folder first. If it's not there, contact us at info@plen.work and we'll sort it out.

Your licence key works on your personal machines. If you're using Plen on your desktop and your laptop, that's fine.

No. Plen stores everything locally on your computer. We don't have servers, accounts, or cloud storage. Your planning data is yours and stays on your machine.

Yes, you can export your Gantt chart as HTML, PNG, Excel, or a calendar file (ICS) and share it however you like. The recipient doesn't need Plen to view the export.

Online Gantt chart tools like Tom's Planner, TeamGantt and GanttPRO run in the browser and charge a monthly subscription (Tom's Planner starts at around $9.95 per month). They're a good fit if a whole team needs to edit the same chart online. Plen takes a different approach: it's a desktop planning tool you buy once for €22, it works offline, and your project data never leaves your computer. Time tracking and budgeting are built in, too.

Email us at info@plen.work. We take bugs seriously and aim to fix them quickly.

Yes. All updates within Plen 1.x are free. You'll be notified when updates are available.

Our first priority is getting Plen out of beta and fully bug-free, with all of the current features working smoothly.

After that, here are a few things we're exploring (nothing is set in stone yet):

  • Statistics: gain insight into your plannings through charts and graphs, and export them to make your plans and budgets even clearer.
  • Open multiple files at once: work across several projects side by side, keeping them separate without losing any convenience.
  • Calendar view: see and edit your Gantt chart as a calendar.
